Go Make Me Something

For this project we were given a picture of a plane to use in any way that we chose.  To make this picture, I used the pen tool to select the plane and place it in the sky.  I then took a picture of a bull rider and used a layer mask to select him and put him on the plane.  This project was easy because I already knew how to use every tool I used in making this picture.

Giant Ego

This is a composite of two images.  For this project we took a picture of a girl and put her into the background photo of a room.  This project was not too difficult, however it did take a lot of time.  The easiest part of this project was using the Pen Tool to select the image of the girl in order to put her into the background photo.  In order to make the girl look more like she actually belonged in the background photo, we had to create a number of adjustment layers, which was difficult to do because we had o determine the right amount of Hue, Saturation, and Brightness to allow this photo to have.

Re-Design

This is the re-designed logo of Jaspers' Rink.  This design is better because it is simpler than the first design.  The bird was taken out of this design because a bird doesn't have anything to do with an ice rink.  This design  has a hockey puck, which goes better with an ice rink than a bird does.  Also, this design only has two colors, which looks better than the original background which was a gradient of 4 different colors.  This new design is also made using Photoshop, which looks better than the original which looked like it was hand drawn.

Crappy Design

This is a logo for an ice rink called Jaspers' Rink.  This is a crappy design for a few reasons.  The first reason is that the logo has a large bird in the center that has nothing to do with an ice rink other than it is holding a hockey stick.  The second reason is that the logo put more emphasis on the large bird than it does on the name of Jaspers' Rink.  The third reason is because it looks hand drawn and unprofessional.  To make this design better, I will simplify the design and make it look more professional and make it on a computer.  I will also remove the large bird and put more emphasis on the name of the ice rink.

Illustrator Map

In this project we traced a picture of a location to create a map.  After choosing the area I was going to map, tracing the land and roads was easy. To create the road names we used the Type On Path tool.  The hardest part of this project was trying to get the perspective of the map right.  This was difficult for the buildings as they had to be made to look 3D and the techniques used in the example didn't always work. After making the buildings, however, the project went very well and I was able to finish quickly.
